Dr. Miesmer is a graduate of the National College of Chiropractic (NCC) in Lombard, Illinois where she received a
Bachelor of Science in human biology and a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree. NCC (which recently changed its
name to the National University of Health Sciences) provides its students with a science-based curriculum focused
on biology, anatomy, physiology and biomechanics. During the practical portion of her education, Dr. Miesmer
completed rotations at the NCC and Salvation Army clinics and participated in a 3-month internship in a private
practice in Silver Spring, Maryland.
After graduation, Dr. Miesmer accepted a position in a large multidisciplinary clinic that provided her with
substantial clinical experience and allowed her to treat a diverse assortment of patients and their corresponding
conditions while working closely with medical doctors, physical therapists, massage therapists and podiatrists.
Dr. Miesmer has continued with her chiropractic education, attending monthly seminars on
rehabilitation protocols, sports injuries, chiropractic techniques and orthopedics. Her educational and practical
training have provided Dr. Miesmer with deep clinical insight and has allowed her to treat a wide variety of
conditions with great success. She was the featured specialist in the April 2005 edition of Windy City Sports Magazine's 'Ask the Doctor' column and has donated her time and skills to the community by volunteering as a team chiropractor for the Avon 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer and as an anatomy expert at the Museum of Science and Industry's Body Worlds exhibit.
Dr. Miesmer is firmly committed to providing professional, ethical and quality care to all of her patients.
She encourages her patients to take an active role in their health and provides comprehensive patient education and
self-management techniques to facilitate complete recovery and a thorough understanding of their health. |
